Holidays in England are the best!

Well, our holiday is over now. Ordinary life is about to begin again. Here in the Netherlands it’s still 31 degrees this week, so we can enjoy the sun for a few more days. Gerben and I have had two weeks holiday which the first nine days we spent in England. Normally we go shorter because we don’t want to leave the cats alone that long. They are then one time per day taken care of by Gerben’s parents. But our niece stayed in our house now, so we could stay in England a bit longer. We went four days to New Forrest and five to Rye which is our usual place to stay. And it was so nice, we had great weather, we even spend a few days on the beach. We have been to New Forrest before, saying New Forrest is saying horses! In the wild!horse in New Forrest in HOLIDAYS IN ENGLANDOn our way to Rye we stopped at Beachy Head were you can see the Seven Sisters, a formation of seven cliffs. We love to go there for a walk and enjoy the beautiful nature and the sea.Beachy Head in holidays in englandI love everything British, I’m really born in the wrong country, including humor. This is the name of a fish&chips restaurant in Hastings. That’s humor!fish&chips in holidays in englandThese are the typical fishing cottages. Usually they have birds of prey where they fly with. Beautiful! And you really should watch this video! A piggy race! Tears ran over my cheeks from laughing.Falcon in holidays in englandDuring our holiday it was my 38 birthday………….for the twelfth time. So I thought it would be very nice not being at home then. Yeah right! When we came home at midnight there was this in the garden. becomming 50 in holidays in englandI do not know if my foreign readers know this, but in the Netherlands it is traditional that you get a Sarah doll in your garden when you turn 50! Secretly it was fun! And all the cards and flowers too!

Back home we enjoyed our second week with lot’s of cycling, going out for dinner and shopping! I thought I would not long hold out, I don’t use the wheelchair in my own environment, but I shopped for five hours!( including a lunch of course) and I loved it! Of course you get to see what I bought! We also spent a day in Giethoorn.Giethoorn in holidays in england

It was a wonderful holiday!

I wish you all a fantastic week!

    • Oh echt! Geweldig! Ik ging vroeger ook met m’n ouders naar Engeland, 1x per jaar dan, sindsdien ben ik helemaal verzot op het land. Na een paar maanden krijg ik echt heimwee! Canterbury is ook erg mooi!

  1. Very nice pictures, I think you had a nice holiday. It is very fun the tradition doll in the garden, congratulations! I love the last shot, driving the boat, your dress is beautiful and you look very attractive.

  2. Nancy, that looked like such a wonderful time. Our vacations aren’t out of the country. But we did get out of state (we live in Missouri and made it to Illinois)! I’ve seen your black and white stripped dress on IG and loved it-still do.
