Fancy Friday linkup.

At the bottom of this post you can join the Fancy Friday linkup and don’t forget to read the Styled By………..page. I am curious about your story!

Hoge Veluwe National Park.

Hello all. Today is a different post as usual. I don’t think the pictures evoke the same atmosphere with you as with me, but I wanted to share this anyway. Last Sunday Gerben and I went to the Hoge Veluwe, we do this more often when the weather is nice. The Hoge Veluwe is a National Park with a beautiful combination of art, architecture and nature. You should really take a look at their site to see what is going on there. For my foreign readers it may not be as interesting, but who knows, if you ever go visit the Netherlands you have to visit it. I will even guide you well! I will briefly tell some more. The Hoge Veluwe is gigantic( for Dutch standards that is) and you can see a lot of wildlife if you’re lucky. We have seen, a few weeks ago, a group of rutting deer. There is the Kröller-Müller museum which houses the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world. There is a sculpture garden and you can grap a bike to cycle around the park. They have hundreds of white bikes. And you can visit the residence of the couple Kröller-Müller designed by Berlage.

Enjoy an autumn “walk”.

So we went “walking”. And by walking I mean that Gerben is walking and I am in the wheelchair. We bought the wheelchair last year, and the first few times I hated it. I was ashamed and felt watched. I also did not have these oxygen glasses and still had the tube over my face, which made things even more worse. Meanwhile, I feel a lot more confident with these glasses and I can now, sitting in the wheelchair, really enjoy a”walk” without having pain in my body, being out of breath, getting terribly tired. I really enjoy it now and Gerben doesn’t mind to push. And it was such a beautiful sunny autumn day. And I was very grateful….

This is where I link up!

Most viewed last week is: Susan from Over50Under20 who made me laugh out loud with her latest post!

  1. Nancy, I am so glad you can enjoy getting outdoors. You are beautiful and can be proud that you are still living a full and fun life regardless of your limitations. It looks like a beautiful place to take a walk. Being in a place like that is absolutely therapeutic. Thanks for sharing and for hosting the link up. – Amy

  2. Hello all. I am sorry you were unable to respond. My server implementeren a numbers of security features and there was a mistake kept. All is resolved, they even apologized to all of you!

    1. Thank you Liz! But even when it s cold its beautiful, as long as it is dry! But then again, I think cold here is different then cold where you live! Have a great weekend love!

  3. thanks for sharing this beautiful park! Lucky you to have the change of seasons – it always looks basically the same here in California. I’m sorry to hear you’re not enjoying the wheelchair and I hope you feel better, but at least you had a lovely time at the park anyway 🙂 It’s good you’re making the best of things . Wishing you well!

  4. Dear Nancy, wow amazing pictures from a wonderfull day and park. Autumn can be sooo wonderfull. Its the first time I realize your lung desease. You are right to take a wheelchair and have a walk in nature.
    I wish you a nice weekend,tina

  5. Oh Nancy, I am SO sorry about the wheelchair but I am so happy that you had a lovely day out 🙂 you always seem so feisty and energetic in your photoshoots that I forget about your condition. Much love.

  6. Nancy, how funny that Susan was the most clicked for your link up, too! I just saw she was most clicked on Jennie’s (A Pocketful of Polka Dots) link up, too! Way to go Susan! By the way, really gorgeous photos in this post.

  7. Well, it only took a couple of gentle reminders from you, dearest Nancy – I actually made it to your linkup this week!! Hurray!! Here in Canada, National Parks are all about “roughing it” in the wilderness; so it’s very interesting to see that Hoge Veluwe actually boasts a sculpture garden…and even a museum!! Definitely more my style than hiking and camping!! 🙂 P.S. I’m sorry that your health issues are serious enough to (sometimes?) require a wheelchair; but I’m glad to know that it hasn’t stopped you from enjoying the “great outdoors!!”

    1. Yes yes yes!! Haha, Thank you Monica, you know I appreciate it! I need a weelchair when we have to walk far or long but it s oké, I am Happy that I don t need it all the time(yet) This park is also so wonderful because everyone is doing there thing, people are walking there dogs, ride horses, cycle, picknicking, etc. It s really very nice! Have a great weekend!

    1. I think because it s obviously then that the bikes belong to the Park and they are easy to find! There are some places were you can grab one or leave one , but people stall them everywere!
