HOW TO WEAR LEATHER LEGGINGS IN FALL & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Leather leggings weather!

Yes, at last I can wear my leather legging again! Faux leather legging is what I actually mean. In the summer it is way to hot to wear these, but now that it is colder I can finally take them out of the closet. This legging is so very nice to wear, the waist is pretty high so you don’t have to pull it up all the time. And it is a very stretchy one, and very stylish….at least I think so. Leather leggings are so versatile. You can wear them with a long cool sweater, with a tunic and you can even wear a dress on it. It has something ,,edgyness,, yet it is also a very feminine item. That is to say, when you wear it with heels. I never actually wear the leather leggings with flat boots. I’m not a biker. Gerben is! ( he does wear his leather,,legging”(read pants of course)with flat boots). But that’s a totally different look!

You have seen this before!

The very very observant reader might think: where did I see that striped thing before? Right! Here! But the tee was a bit to short, and as a 50+ woman walking around with a naked belly is to much Little Britain for me. So I cut the sleeves et voila! I wear blue earrings and my blue sandals, which really were my favorite last season. My dragonfly broche has a little bit blue in it and I showed my blue leather blazer before here.leather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggingsleather leggings

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST: SWEATER DRESSES BY DRESSLILY

Time for sweater dresses!

It’s getting colder here and so it’s time to choose a warm sweater dress from Dresslily. Last week in the UK we had such a fantastic weather, sunny blue skies, and now back in the Netherlands I think it is so very cold. And I hate to be cold!

So time to check out some fabulous sweater dresses.

1. Cable knit dress

2.Knitted bodycon dress

And a few more sweater dresses that I really like!

1.Pleated knitted dress

2.Striped sweater dress

Do you like to wear sweater dresses when it is getting colder? Perhaps I don’t even like to wear them anymore, you know, hot flashes and all!

And have you already picked a Bad Buy Jacket for the October series? Please do, we really would love to continue these series, but ladies, we need your help with it! Come on: participate!

JEANS AND TOP BLOUSE, SIMPLY STYLISH

I am wearing jeans and a top blouse!

I am back from a little break to the UK. I havn’t read any of your blogs. I know, but I will catch up this week and wanted to thank you all for your comments and linkups last Friday!

Now you might think: yeah, what is special about that? Well, nothing! It’s just what it is, a jeans and a top blouse. For me that is simple. I hardly ever wear trousers, almost never jeans. And I don’t like blouses to much. What I do like are culottes. And this is a denim culotte!

* This is a sponsored post but all opinions and words are of myself.

And I like black! And this is a black top blouse. Sometimes you don’t want to stand out to much about how you are dressed. Only sometimes! And what is easier than wearing a jeans and a blouse. ( a legging and a sweater, but you will never see me wearing that!) But I find a regular jeans and blouse very boring, so I was looking for a simple outfit but still a bit stylish. I really can’t imagine anymore that I hated culottes in the beginning. Now they are my favorite in trousers! I also have this one here and here.

Add a little green

This is a perfect outfit for September, when it’s not that warm anymore and you don’t want to wear sweaters already. I hate to wear socks so I always wear my sandals and peeptoes for as long as possible. I added a bit of green into the outfit. Green earrings, my beaded necklaces from Brighton and these gorgeous green sandals! I love these espadrilles, what a fabulous color! But when it’s getting colder I want to try the culottes with boots. I don’t think I have ever worn culottes with boots. And I don’t mean ankle boots but tall ones. have you ever worn culottes with boots? Let me know how you feel about that!

THE BAD BUY BOOK: SKIRTS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

The Bad Buy Book: skirts

Welcome to September’s edition of The Bad Buy Book! This month’s theme is: skirts!

The Bad Buy Book is a series hosted by Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge and Nancy of Nancy’s Fashion Style. We wanted to establish together something fun and new. We both talked about our,,Sitting Shoes,, and so we came up with the idea for The Bad Buy Book!

We all do our best to look great in our outfits, choose the right accessories, the right makeup, the perfect shoes, and wait for the best light to shoot the most flattering outfit photos. And now we are asking you to show us the items you don’t feel your very best in. You know, those ,,Sitting Shoes,, that dress that is actually not quite your color, the skirt that is a size too small but the saleswoman said it looked amazing. We all own those items!  And while they may look fabulous, they don’t always feel fabulous! So we want you to show us your bad buys and tell us the story about them! What made you purchase the item?  And why do you dislike it now?  And why not share them with us?  We buy these things for a reason then hide them in the back of the closet.  Now it’s their turn to share the limelight.

Every month on the 15 th, we will both publish a post sharing the photos you have sent us along with a few sentences about the bad buy. Photo submissions will be due by the 1 st of each month so we have time to edit and compile all of the entries. At the end of each post we will let you know the theme for the next month’s post. Photos and the story of your ”Bad Buy” can be emailed to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or nancybaten@upcmail.nl. Please put”Bad Buy” in the subject line.

So, time to take a look at our Bad Buy Skirts!

First is my dear co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the EdgeThe Bad Buy Book: skirts“When I saw this faux leather pencil skirt, I had to have it.  Because, well, a black leather pencil skirt is completely bad ass.  But only if it fits properly.  Which it doesn’t.  It is crazy tight around the midsection.  I can’t sit or breathe in it!  But the next size up was much too big.  And how the heck do you get those horrible creases out of the faux leather?  I haven’t a clue.”

( I iron faux leather skirts Shelbee! Inside out!)

Next the always lovely Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style

The Bad Buy Book: skirts

“Well, it’s another episode of what Jodie can buy that really doesn’t work—ha ha!! ( Jodie’s words, not ours!)

Here’s my maxi skirt that I bought last year at the thrift store! I wanted a knit maxi skirt, and I love the colors, but it just didn’t work well for my style. There was too much going on in the print, and I never felt comfortable wearing it!!

I suppose I could have tried other options to see if something would work, but I gave up and donated it!”

And  finally me with my bad Buy skirt. The Bad Buy Book: skirtsI bought this one on a market in Rye on a holiday. Very cheap! I fall for cheap, isn’t that awfull! But I only like the colors, nothing else. It’s cotton and I don’t like cotton. It doesn’t form to your body. The Bad Buy Book: skirtsThis is also a bad buy skirt, it’s actually a very boring color and I never wear it as a skirt. I wore it here as a dress! But this one I bought when I was still working and got 50% discount, so I bought a lot of clothing then………still do……without the discount…..

That’s it for this month! Hope you liked to read about our Bad Buys and that you will participate next month!

The October theme will be: Jackets!

WHY BLUE DRESSES NEVER GET BORED & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

How many blue dresses can a woman have!

Oh well, do I really have to answer that! And of course my collection black dresses is even bigger! Look, black dresses never really get bored……and you cannot have enough black dresses. Lol. But I tend to wear blue dresses just as often. And it’s not really my favorite color. I have very few tops and skirts in blue. But why dresses? Because when I was able to choose a dress from Shein, I fell for this one, with blue in it! Why is it that blue dresses never get bored? Well, and now you probably expected an answer and I do not have one for you! Maybe it’s just very personal. But, for example, with red and green I get bored very quickly. I am curious, have you got the same with blue? Let me know!

  • This is a sponsored post but all words and opinions are my own.

So yet another blue dress

I choose the one I showed you here. I had already ordered a dress of the same design, this one, and liked it very much. I love the colors in this dress, brown and blue make a great combination for Fall clothing I think. This is actually a summer dress but I find it fantastic to wear with a long cardigan or jacket and boots. To accentuate the blue, I chose my blue jacket and blue boots. Simple blue earrings and a few wooden bracelets are all the accesories this dress needs.blue dressesblue dressesblue dressesblue dressesblue dressesblue dressesblue dressesblue dresses

We are leaving for a short trip to the UK next week, and I decided to not publish a post next Thuesday. On Friday it is our monthly serie of The Bad Buy Book, so we meet each other then!
