BLACK KNITTED DRESS & PINK BLAZER

Black knitted dress with a pink blazer.

At first I wanted to wear this black knitted dress with a black cardigan( of course, how predictable can you be) but then I thought about red and pink. I love red and pink together and I have this beautiful bright pink blazer that you have seen here before. It has a beautiful orange lining. A black knitted dress is a garment that I always own in winter time. It’s warm, stylish and very easy to wear and to combine. You can wear them with high heels to make the look more stylish, or wear comfortable boots for a sporty look. I am not very fond of a sporty look, I only wear that when the weather is bad and I have to do my groceries. The weather here is fortunately a bit better. It has been really cold here, for Dutch standards. There were days when the temperature didn’t reach above zero. And all that snow, pfff I hate that. Those temperatures are very bad for my lungs. So I hardly get out of my house then. Well let me tell you, that is not something to get cheerful over.

What more to wear with a pink blazer and black knitted dress.

Like I said: red! I actually never wear these sandals in summer but I like them a lot more in winter or fall with tights. I added a red bracelet that I bought when I was for the first time in England, as a adult that is. I have been  there many times with my parents in my teens. I bought the bracelet at Claire’s in Canterbury! It was 15 years ago! So this bracelet always reminds me of the UK. You might think, well it’s just a bracelet from Claire’s. Nothing special. But it was the first time that Gerben and I went together England and he didn’t know if he would like it. As you may perhaps no by now, if I were healthy, I would moved years ago to England! And he loved it as much as I do. So that was a fantastic holiday, one of many more! Now we go at least twice a year.

I am also wearing a red belt and pink peacock earrings. Don’t you love the brooche! I think it’s really cute. pink blazer black knitted dress outfitred bracelet in pink blazer black knitted dressowl brooche in pink blazer black knitted dresscol dress in pink blazer black knitted dresswearing tights in pink blazer black knitted dresssandals in pink blazer black knitted dresspeacock earrings in pink blazer black knitted dresspink sandals in pink blazer black knitted dressme in pink blazer black knitted dress

BLACK BODYCON DRESS & LEATHER BOLERO & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Back to a black dress!

For those who know me a while already, know that I adore black outfits. For those who are here for the first time: where were you all this time! Just kidding. But I love to dress in black. Not just a skirt or a blouse, no totally black. Because of blogging I started to wear colors  and I must say, I like it. But sometimes I want to wear all black for a day. It always feels the best. And although I love my pink and red and blue and green outfits, in black I feel like me. Very unfortunate that a black outfit on photographs never comes out so beautiful but maybe this wintry picture helps. And I done it all for you eh! I hate snow!

Again another black dress.

I bought this one at the fashion show of my former colleague back in december. I wanted a new dress for the holidays, and I had no black dress yet………pfffff yeah right. Okay, I didn’t have one this lenght……what the…I just wanted a new dress, let’s keep it at that. Oh yes, this one has two lits at the side. I don’t own a dress that has that! This is quite a stretchy dress, which is lovely, but the drawback is that shapewear underwear or tights are a must. And when you go out for diner I don’t like that very much, in fact even when I don’t go out for diner. But certainly with a bodycon dress it’s all much more firmer. I have never tried a shapewear slipdress, which is quite a must with a bodycon dress I think. Because when I wear shapewear thights I can always see the withdrawal and with a shapewear slip I always get such an ugly ass. What are your experiences with shapewear?

I bought with the dress a faux leather bolero. The leather gloves have a bow which I love, just like my necklace with a clock underneath which is not visible in the pictures. And I wear bowes in my ears. I wear black lace tights, 60 denier, and ankle boots. The dress is now marked down to half!me in snow in black dressleather gloves with a bow in black dressbow necklace in black dressgloves in black dressme in snow in black dressleather bolero in black dressbow earrings in black dressblack bodycon dressoutfit in black dress

dark brown short cardigan in tall bootsThe story behind these tall boots.

I am really very happy with these boots. I’ll tell you why. I had last year bought these boots. A nice quality suède and elastic at the top making them sank not a millimeter. But there was a big problem with these boots. I could not walk normally on them! Because of my lung disease I cannot walk on high heels anymore(it’s to exhausting) But these are not that high and the tread was wide. I don’t know what it is but I cannot walk on these. I look like a construction worker when I walk on it. They were good for only one thing: I was featured with these boots at Everything Just So! Well, I still wanted some other over the knee boots in brown suède. I came across these and there was some kind of discount week going on and I paid €30 for these. Is that a bargain or what! They have a block heel and are easy to walk on and they don’t sack either. I am very happy with these!

How I love to style my tall boots.

I never wear boots over pants. It might look good on others, it certainly doesn’t work for me at all. I think denim and brown combine great, it gives denim a more sturdy look I think. Perhaps it reminds me of cowboys……I have nothing to do with cowboys…..don’t even like westerns or country music! I digress. I wanted to wear this long cardigan with the jeans and the boots. This amazing leopard print blouse would look good on it too because of the colors, but the cardigan made the outfit look very pale. So I decided to wear a dark brown shorter cardigan over the pale one. Because the darker brown one is a bit to wide, I closed it on my back with the last button. I added some brown and gold colored bracelets in different materials and leave earrings, I also wore a leave bracelet. And a beautiful leather wrap belt. I really love this outfit and it is perfect for this cold weather because of all the layers. I hope you like my outfit too!myself in tall bootslight brown long cardigan in tall bootsblock heels in tall bootsleopard print blouse in tall bootsbrown boots in tall bootsbrown belt in tall bootsoutfit in tall bootsbracelets in tall bootsdenim skirt in tall boots

my outfit in pleated skirt with knitted sweater

I want to wear my pleated skirt every day!

Well, not really though. And I know you have seen this skirt before here and here. And I love it styled like today the best! With the pink details, gray and pink compliment each other so well. I was just browsing the internet to see whether the pleated skirt trend continues into Spring. I actually regret that I have not bought a metallic pleated skirt this season, and now it feels like to late. But if they are still trendy next season, I will buy another one. In a spring color or a beautiful print. Vogue and Elle don’t mention the pleated skirt at all and so don’t the leading designers but…….drum roll……check this one! New collection! I can totally see myself wearing this one with a red top! Super cool!

Back to today’s pleated skirt.

I love this sweater. I find the color beautiful, you have to watch out that you don’t wear a tint of gray that makes your skin looks the same color! This is a warmer shade of gray. This sweater is a bit crotched and a bit knitted, love the casual look of it. I never wear two shades of gray, but I think it works in this outfit pretty nice, also because I added a bit of pink in it. A very bright color could also work perfectly. Now that I have discovered that wearing socks in open shoes looks nice(in my eyes), I wear it very often. The pink strap has a cute bow detail and the kitschy charm bracelet looks lovely with this outfit. The suède bag with fringe and studs is old but remains trendy!

I wear the scarf and the glooves just for the pictures because they are pink and gray. The scarf I knitted last year, I wanted to find out whether I liked to do that. I never wear it, it isn’t that nice. But to knit was quite relaxing, of course I only know one stitch, the most simple one! But for someone who can relax bad, it is quite fun to do. For a while, I get bored real quickly.pink and gray scarf in pleated skirtpink peeptoes in pleated skirtgray bag in pleated skirtpink bracelet in pleated skirtpink belt in pleated skirtbow belt in pleated skirtgray pleated skirtpink peeptoes in pleated skirtknit wear in pleated skirtknitted sweater in pleated skirt

BLOGGER IRRITATIONS & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Do you know that too….blogger irritations?

Nothing is as irritating as when there is something wrong with your blog and you cannot fix it. When I started my blog, fashionandfoodandotherstuff, I had the free WordPress version. I searched very long for a theme that I was happy with. The point is that I know exactly what I want. And that is usually not available. But eventually I found one that I was satisfied with. Not happy, just satisfied. When I started this blog, a self-hosted one, I had to search again for a theme. And again I sat for days in front of the laptop trying all these themes. And I found the perfect one! Sleek, simple and with everything on it that I wanted. For a few months I was very happy with it.

So, why the blogger irritations?

Well, because at some point someone said she could not respond by phone. I tried to sort it out myself but I couldn’t so I mailed the theme builder. Before he responds, a few days have past and he told me to wait for the next update. So that didn’t help. I want it to be fixed….NOW! Again after a while it started to really irritate me that my blog wasn’t functioning properly. Again I searched for another theme, mailed the theme builder again and before you know it, months have past and your baby is still sick. Hahaha, joking, I am not that crazy….. Last week I had enough of it, mailed the builder that I was pissed of and installed another theme. That took me half a day to put everything in order. And, of course, the builder mailed the next day to give me my data and he would check out what the problem was. So he did checked it out and he knew now what the problem was, and I had my old theme back. Not fixed, half day work for nothing. He promissed he would fix it asap. After a small week there was nothing fixed, I now send him a mail with an ultimatum for two days to solve it. Of course he did not respond, and I spend another half day to install a new theme. I wonder if you see a lot of differences and I hope you find this theme enjoyable to read. You can at least leave your comments with your phone again!!! Yeah!

So a picture of me with a very grumpy face, too much candy and a view that I can dream now. To still end this post a little cozy, two pictures with what I wore at New Years Eve and how the diner table looked like before our friends arrived. We love to spoil our friends with good food!
