BELL SLEEVES & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Time for Fancy Friday linkup and wearing bell sleeves!

Because of the tip that Shelbee gave me last week, there were a lot more linkups then normal! We now had 78! Let’s shoot to 100! That’s my goal. Thank you all for linking up, I love it!

Bell sleeves and striped skirt.

This is the first bell sleeve top I bought. I loved them for a longer time but most are long-sleeved and I know that is not ideal. I see myself cooking diner and hanging with my sleeve in the gravy. No thanks. So this is the perfect one for me. I bought this skirt in spring in England and thought it would be more of an autumn skirt. Because of the colors. So now I can finally wear it with boots. I’m still looking for the perfect leopard print ankle boots. Yesterday I was browsing on the net and thought I had found the perfect ones, and then I found out that they didn’t send to the Netherlands! Oh bummer! The search continues. I did stumbled on this skirt. At first I thought, wow I like, but then I saw the stripes on the side. I didn’t like it, on the other hand it is also something more trendy and different. I’m going to think about it. If you find the perfect leopard print ankle boot, please let me know! Haha, and I am looking for guestbloggers who want to talk about their style with a picture that comes closest to their personality. Now it’s time for you to shine!

Skirt: bought it in May at Dorothy Perkins, this is another great striped one here

Boots: old, but don’t you just love these here

Let’s start with the Fancy Friday linkup!

BURGUNDY, PINK & RUFFLES!

I’am wearing burgundy, pink & ruffles today.

But first what about the weather! Here in the Netherlands this weekend it is 25 degrees! Can you believe it! Incredible, and a clear blue sky, not a cloud to be seen. Apart from the fact that I love the sun, I’m quite a chivery person, it’s also perfect weather for my lungs. The dry air is really very nice, I don’t need to cough so much. So I feel fitter and less stressed. I hope the weather stays this way for a long time, then infections stay away for a while! By the way, what do you think about this jacket? It stays in my head but I don’t know wich color I prefer. And I was looking for new boots, I want leopard print ankle boots but I know exactly what I want so they probably don’t exist, and I ended up on the H&M site . They have very nice boots and shoes, these are fantastic and I also love these. But well, let’s talk about the outfit!

Burgundy ruffle blouse and vintage pink skirt.

As you all know by now burgundy, or bordeaux, is your color this fall. Many of you have already shown a great outfit in this color. Today I will show wich item I perchased in this color. I was actually looking for a blouse with ruffles. In the early eighties I was a big fan of these kind of blouses thanks to Prince and Adam & the Ants. I found this blouse and wanted to order it in black when I saw this color. I knew right away how I wanted to wear the blouse! On a pink skirt. I have said it before, I love the combination of red/pink and blue/green, in all color variants. This skirt is more,, vintage pink” and I like the texture of it. It has got pleats but it’s kind of a knitted skirt. I combined it with gray, wich I seem to be wearing a lot these days! Gray ankle boots and a gray fringe suède bag.

Wanted: Guest bloggers!

I would love to, occasionaly, have a guest blogger tell her/his story on this blog. A story about their style, how long you are wearing this style and why and with pictures that reflect your personality the most. If you are interested, please send me a message via the contact page or through social media. I look forward to it!

GRAY and BEIGE FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Today I am wearing gray and beige and it is time for the Fancy Friday linkup.

Do you remember that I had set, last week, a new goal for my linkup? When I reach hundred linkups, I also want to feature my favorite of the week! Well I got a sweet tip from Shelbee. Isn’t it fantastic that other bloggers on the other side of the world think along with you! Thank you dear Shelbee!

Gray and Beige

Today I show you an older outfit that I still really like. Simple, but I think it’s feminine and fun. I’ve always been fond of pencilskirts. Years ago it was more a business garment, the secretary look, but that time we’ve had. Now you wear a pencilskirt with sneakers, sweaters, long blouse over it or as an extension for a to short dress. This is a scuba pencilskirt and is wearing very comfortable. it does not crease and does not wrinkle when you were seated. Gray and beige sounds pretty boring but it really does not have to be boring at all. Wear an item with a fun print and fun shoes, make it not to seriously. Or use a lot of fun accesories. But as you might know by now, I love it simple. It’s still hot here so I wear it without a jacket or vest, but this long cardigan would fit perfectly with it in colder days!

Top: old, but here is a nice one too.

Skirt: old, but simular here

Shoes: old, but simular here

Well I’m curious, do you ever wear gray and beige together or that you find it boring?

I wish you all a fabulous weekend!

GREEN LEATHER, LACE AND PLEATS.

Today I’m wearing green leather, lace and pleats!

I’ve been waiting quite a while with shopping for some new autumn clothes. Normally I am so exited that I want to buy in August all kinds of things. And that is always to early, because if you wait a few weeks longer there is much more choice. I had planned to go shopping for a day when we got back home from England. I looked forward for it for days, but I also worry a lot about it. Can I keep up with it, how can I shop as efficiently as possible, what if I am dead tired after one shop, then the disappointment is so big. These kind of thoughts dampen the enthousiasm considerably. I wanted to shop at Zara, Douglas and Primark and to do that efficiently Arnhem was the most logical choice. And Gerben likes Arnhem too, not unimportant! Well, I enjoyed it! We shopped for five hours! (and had lunch of course). I bought so many beautiful clothes! I was totally happy. Today I’ll show you the green leather, lace and pleats outfit.

A monochrome look.

At Primark it was very quiet, so I had the space to brows and so I did. Just threw everything I liked into the bag and then went to the fitting rooms were I could take everything with me because it was so quiet! Yes, I like that. I bought tops and sweaters. At Douglas I wanted to buy MAC cosmetics and the makeup artist took the time for me, that was great too! Then Gerben and I agreed to have lunch, he had shopped somewhere else, he doesn’t want to go into a Primark. We ate outside were we could watch people passing by. And after lunch I wanted to shop at Zara, Gerben went along because I think he always has a good look on what suits me and what doesn’t. And there I bought this green leather, lace and pleats outfit. Among many other items that I all will show! Because dressing is tiring for me, Gerben brought other sizes to me when I needed a bigger or smaller size. At one point he comes back with some clothes at the desk and the person there said to him: Men are not allowed to fit here. Gerben held the skirts and dresses up and asked, do you think this will fit me then? Hahaha, we had a good laugh.

[bctt tweet=”Do you like a monochrome look or a you a pattern mixer?” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

How to style a monochrome look?

Of course it’s all very personal, I give you my opinion, it is of course not to say that it is correct…for me it is! Use different fabrics with different textures. That’s really it. I’m wearing leather, lace, pleats, and I also bought a knitted sweater in the same color. Different textures!

DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

Fancy Friday linkup.

And it is time for the Fancy Friday linkup. I must say that I love being busy with  the Fancy Friday linkup. Every week I see new faces and I think that is great! I hope you are also discovering new bloggers(for you) again. I also think it’s great fun to see who the last week most viewed was. I am a person who always set goals for herself and my next goal is to also choose every week my favorite. But… I will do that when Fancy Friday hit 100 linkups! So I’m now halfway! I would appreciate it if you would help me reach my goal and promote the Fancy Friday linkup!

Is it a dress or skirt?

I had not planned on shopping in England because I had a shopping day planned in the Netherlands, but you will agree with me that I could not let this one hang. But first I will show you this brooche and ring. The ring is selfmade from waste of materials the maker uses. So simple but so beautiful. The brooche is a funny story. When we were in Hastings in May, I told gerben I wanted to find in an antique shop an authentic brooche. I then found a very nice one and when we got home I asked Gerben to clean it for me(I’m a bit weird in that area, I assumed it was a second hand one, and then think that the person who wore it before is perhaps deceased and I don’t touch it then until it is cleaned, read decontaminated. So Gerben knows me by now and cleaned it very well and I was happy with it. And then I lost it! Don’t no where, don’t know when(?) I regretted that very much because it was not just a brooche, it was a brooche from my beloved England! I decided to buy a new one the next time. So, we went to the same shop and I was looking for another one when the lady asked me if I was looking for something special. I told her the story of the brooche ( not the decontaninating thing) and she said: Did you buy this one? What????? She had two more of them! I thought it was authentic! But I had my brooche back!( I am sorry, it’s not the best picture but I am running late and have no time taking a new one)brooche and ring in DRESS OR SKIRT? & FANCY FRIDAY LINKUP

And we still have the question, is it a dress or skirt?

A while ago I showed you my maxi skirt wich I actually prefer to wear as a dress. When I saw this dress I knew immediatly that I would never wear it as a dress, but it would be a great skirt! I find the colors so beautiful and the print of the leaves and flowers makes this skirt a fabulous autumn skirt. I bought it in Rye on the market for five pounds!

HOLIDAYS IN ENGLAND

Holidays in England are the best!

Well, our holiday is over now. Ordinary life is about to begin again. Here in the Netherlands it’s still 31 degrees this week, so we can enjoy the sun for a few more days. Gerben and I have had two weeks holiday which the first nine days we spent in England. Normally we go shorter because we don’t want to leave the cats alone that long. They are then one time per day taken care of by Gerben’s parents. But our niece stayed in our house now, so we could stay in England a bit longer. We went four days to New Forrest and five to Rye which is our usual place to stay. And it was so nice, we had great weather, we even spend a few days on the beach. We have been to New Forrest before, saying New Forrest is saying horses! In the wild!horse in New Forrest in HOLIDAYS IN ENGLANDOn our way to Rye we stopped at Beachy Head were you can see the Seven Sisters, a formation of seven cliffs. We love to go there for a walk and enjoy the beautiful nature and the sea.Beachy Head in holidays in englandI love everything British, I’m really born in the wrong country, including humor. This is the name of a fish&chips restaurant in Hastings. That’s humor!fish&chips in holidays in englandThese are the typical fishing cottages. Here you can get the tastiest and freshest fish.fishermen's cottages in holidays in englandWhere we also love to be in England are the wildlife parks and rare breed centers. Usually they have birds of prey where they fly with. Beautiful! And you really should watch this video! A piggy race! Tears ran over my cheeks from laughing.Falcon in holidays in englandDuring our holiday it was my 38 birthday………….for the twelfth time. So I thought it would be very nice not being at home then. Yeah right! When we came home at midnight there was this in the garden. becomming 50 in holidays in englandI do not know if my foreign readers know this, but in the Netherlands it is traditional that you get a Sarah doll in your garden when you turn 50! Secretly it was fun! And all the cards and flowers too!

Back home we enjoyed our second week with lot’s of cycling, going out for dinner and shopping! I thought I would not long hold out, I don’t use the wheelchair in my own environment, but I shopped for five hours!( including a lunch of course) and I loved it! Of course you get to see what I bought! We also spent a day in Giethoorn.Giethoorn in holidays in england

It was a wonderful holiday!

I wish you all a fantastic week!
