CAMOUFLAGE LEGGINGS & DENIM DRESS

The outfit of the day is a camouflage leggings & denim dress.

What! I hear you say. Leggings! Yes! And I’ll make it worse….on Friday you get to see another…. one with a leopard print. Be prepared!

Well, okay then, but how to wear camouflage leggings stylish?

First I have to say that you really have to watch out that it’s not going to be a cheap look. If you are sitting at home, watching TV on the couch, there is nothing wrong with leggings and a baggy sweater. You should see how I look like on a Friday night. But please, don’t leave your house on plastic slippers and leggings. Well, I don’t anyway. But I do like them, they come in the most beautiful prints and colors, so why not? If you styled leggings with fabrics like chiffon or, for example as I do, with a denim dress then it gives the outfit a stylish touch and not the cheap look. And not to many accesories and very high heels. That is my opinion, I am not saying that this is the only way to wear leggings stylish! Don’t get me wrong( I hear Chrissy Hynde!).

The denim dress you have already seen here and here, but I did like the sturdy touch with the camouflage print. At some photos I even look a little tough! Lol. And I like it that the green in the print is a bit of a mint green.  I am very curious how you feel about wearing leggings and what youre thoughts are about mine!

I have already shown previously where the dress and the shoes come from and the leggings you can buy in markets.

Have a great day everybody!

WHITE SUMMERY DRESS & LINKUP

Wearing a white summery dress & linkup time!

I only wear white when there is a heat wave. So like now! I find it very ugly if you have stains on your clothes, and with white I feel that I must look all the time where I can sit down, if it is a bit dirty, or that you don’t touch the skirt or dress. I have therefore little white items, a few basics, a blouse and this dress. I showed it before here on the blog when I just started. Hahaha, I think I’ve grown a little since then! Blogging I mean eh!

[bctt tweet=”Are you wearing white dresses in Summertime? Show me!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

A white dress when there’s a heat wave.

I wore the dress Wednesday night when we were with friends having drinks. So that’s why I wore the cardigan because it cools down quite quickly late in the evening. When it is so hot I prefer to wear something you don’t feel. A dress so, not a bodycon, but a not too tight dress. Little accesories, no scarfs and shoes where your feet can grow in. Mine get thicker in the heat! Of course you can wear bright colors with white, I prefer neutrals. Or, as I saw yesterday by Jodie, orange!

Dress: old, but this is a nice one too.

Sandals: simular here

Anklet: I forgot to wear this one!

BACK TO BLACK!

Today I’m going back to black!

After wearing a lot of colorful outfits this summer, I now want to go back to black today! Sometimes it’s just so nice to wear all black. And to think that I wore before black almost every day! Ah, what a person can change! I bought this dress a long time ago and never worn. When I wore it for the first time I thought, mm, it’s actually a bit short and it’s not really me either. After a long time I did fit it again with in my mind that I did not like the dress. And I liked it! I thought that it looked good suddenly. But I didn’t wore it, I just fitted it. So yesterday I wanted to wear the dress and  when I had it on……what do you think? I didn’t like it again! What the …is it with this dress?

[bctt tweet=”Back to black, but not in my favorite dress!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

Back to black in a dress that doesn’t make me happy!

Crazy huh! So this one goes with the clothes to sell! Defenitely! I’m not going to try again. And the design of the dress is really nice, it’s a beautiful chiffon, it has lots of details and it’s a good quality. But I do not like the pleats and ruffles in one item and it is too short. I have a pretty long upper body and a short skirt or dress brings my figure out of proportion. So I’m done with it. I finally wear black again, and I don’t like it. Well great! And now I’m taking it of, because it is bikini weather here! Yeah, finally!

I hope you all can enjoy some summer days too. We have a heat wave here in the Netherlands! That means lots of reading in the sun and take a splash in the water! Oh yeah! (btw, yes I saw it when I previewd this post! I have to clean the garage door!)

BLACK & WHITE DRESS WITH COBALT & LINKUP

Black, white and cobalt is a nice threesome.

I’m wearing today a black and white dress with a touch of cobalt. And it is Fancy Friday and that means linkup time! Last week there were a lot of new bloggers that participated, thanks for that! I love to meet new bloggers and hope you also met bloggers you didn’t know yet! At the bottom of the post is were you can linkup for this week and the most clicked  is being featured.

Why is a dress so often seen as a festive garment?

When I was still working, in a trendy fashion store, many women came to us to buy a dress for a special occasion. Our store was known for the dresses! Usually we sold a jacket, clutch and accesories with the dress too. Often these women said that they probably would never wear the dress after the occasion because it would be to fancy. What a waste! Then you have this gorgious dress wich you never wear anymore! Why? We always showed the customer how they could wear the dress in a more casual way. My colleagues and me always wore clothes from the store and because we had to stand and walk all day, we always wore (in winter) boots without heel. That looks a lot more casual then high heeled shoes. And in summer you can wear flats or sneakers. A long or short cardigan also makes the look more casual. As simple as that. It’s all about how you look at the dress. You should not see it as a special occasion dress, it’s an item for each day!

Dress: sold out but here is where I bought it and worked!

Shoes: sold out, but these are from the same brand

Bolero: here

HIGH LOW BLOUSE ON DENIM PENCIL SKIRT

A high low blouse on a denim pencil skirt?

No no, what to wear on a high-waisted denim pencil skirt! If you are my age, you’ve already worn high-waisted pants or skirts in a previous century. And we tucked everything in the pants or skirts. Teens don’t do that! They probably havn’t tucked a shirt in their lives! There is still nothing wrong with tucking a shirt in a pencil skirt, I did here, especially if you have a lot of details on the waistband. But you can also wear your shirt, or blouse, over your skirt especially if it is a high low blouse. When you wear a pencil skirt, and you are again my age, you have to keep an eye on the abdominal area especially if there is some stretch in the skirt. When you wear a blouse over it, you don’t have to worry about that. I do  think it’s better to wear a jacket to create a waist if the blouse isn’t fitted.

And did I invent this outfit completely by myself?

No! I have been a copycat! I saw it on Jodie’s blog Jodie’s Touch of Style. I only wore this blouse on a skinny jeans or a leather legging. And when I saw this post of Jodie, I thought, wow that’s a great way to wear a high low blouse. So all the credits go to Jodie!

[bctt tweet=”Do you ever copy a look from another blogger? I do!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

My version of a high low blouse on denim pencil skirt.

I will say that the blouse and skirt needed some color.( Yes, I’m really saying that). A nice bright color. So I wore my pink jacket and pink red wedges with it. I love the combination of red and pink. Like blue and green. I added my red bracelet to have some red with the pink jacket. Soft pink earrings and that’s all the outfit needed in my eyes. Apart from a red watering can and a red plant. Hey, you can even water your plants in a stylish way!

Skirt: almost sold out but simular here

Shoes: sold out, but just for the fun of it, check here

Blouse: old one, but I like this one

Jacket: older, but simular one here

GREEN CREAM SKIRT & LINKUP

Today I’m wearing a green cream skirt and it’s linkup time!

It is Fancy Friday so please join my linkup at the bottom of this post. I have decided to not give a theme to my linkup, but I will put the most viewed in the limelight.

And I wanted this article by Sylvia of 40 Plus Style share with you because I’m proud of it!

I wear lately quite a lot of color and the color that most stands out is green. While green is a cool color, and I can’t wear all green colors because some greens make me look sick, some green tones are warm and I can wear those. If you do not know what colors look good on you, I encourage you to consider doing a color advice. A color analysis can show you which colors look good on you and which don’t. And also what metals and materials look the best on you. Also, often they will take a look at the way you wear your makeup and what colors you use, and give you advice on that. I attended a workshop years ago with girlfriends and found it very instructive and we had a lot of fun!

Zigzag like Missoni.

We all know the colorful knitwear designs and zigzag print by Missoni. This skirt has a bit of a Missoni print. I love the design of the bag although I never use it. When I leave the house, I always have to carry my oxygen concentrator with me, and it came with a terrible sound(?) bag. I had a nice stylish black bag where it fit in, and had the shoemaker optimized the bag for ventilation. But I don’t buy trendy bags anymore because I would walk with two bags and that looks stupid. Sometimes I think that’s a shame….but I’ll have to buy a lot of extra shoes right?

Skirt: could not find the same anymore but nice one here

Sandals: other colors here

Top: totall different but I like this one

The most viewed one from last week is: Shelbee from Shelbee On the Edge who tells about her new venture! Good luck Shelbee!
