HIGH LOW HEM DRESS & LINKUP

Today’s outfit is a blue high low hem dress.

It’s Fancy Friday! The time to linkup your outfit or whatever you want to show us. Read at the bottom of the post how you can join the linkup. I thank the ones who linked up last week, I had 44 linkups! I am almost there! Thank you all!

I love clothes with a high low hem. Whether it’s a blouse, skirt or dress, I think it’s jaunty and feminine. This cobalt blue dress I have for many years, from the time I was still working, but never worn. Why I don’t know. Some garments remaine untouched for a long time hanging in your closet until you suddenly rediscover them. I had the same with this jacket too, which I own for more then seven years, and now I wear it suddenly very much! I wear the dress with my cork wedges, the perfect summer shoe, although I must say that I find the block heel amazing too.

Is it already time for the autumn collection?

No! I do not think so. Oh yes, the stores have already suspended part of the new collection, the online stores show even though plenty of what we need to find beautiful in the autumn, and many bloggers also let us see what their autumn favorites are. I decided to enjoy as long as possible this already too short summer, and therefore as long as possible to show my summer outfits. And I will at some point perfectly well be tempted to shop, I have already seen these  super cute and affordable boots, but not just yet! Oeps! But I have not bought them yet!

Dress: old, but other high low hem dresses here

Shoes: showed before, but great wedges here

BODYCON DRESS WITH NEON AND CO-HOSTING

Today I am co-hosting Tuesday’s ,,Bloggers who have inspired me” with Rachel  from  Garay Treasures. Rachel is a fashion and lifestyle blogger and a  mum of four! What I love about her blog is that she also involves her husband and children and writes about personal things and I like that.

How to wear a bodycon dress with neon!

Today I wear a scuba bodycon dress with some neon. Scuba is polyester and spandex, also called neoprene. It does not crease and feels very light while it seems a bit heavier because it’s thicker. And as with many other bodycon dresses, you don’t have to pull when standing up. I have showed this one earlier here in the beginning of my blogging adventure…..well you can see that verry clear! I think this is a real feminine dress. Combined with a short neon yellow cardigan and a white simple bracelet. Now I could say that my air mattress even is very stylish (same color!) …..haha…okay ….not!

Cardigan:  old, but nice one here

Shoes: here

Dress: older, but nice yellow one here

MAXI TIE DYE DRESS AND LINKUP

It’s Fancy Friday that means time to linkup! Last week the number stopped at 37. No no no, 50 it has to be! When I reach 50 I plan to give the linkup a theme. But I’m still trying to figure out how that works with the voting thing. So any help is welcome! You can linkup at the bottom of this post!

Maxi tie dye dress disaster!

I do laugh at these pictures but it is a fake one! I’ll explain. All week the weather here has been wonderful, the sun shines all day and it’s very hot. For today’s post, I had this dress in mind because it is a real summer look. I had also in mind to make the pictures in the evening because the sun always shines so beautifully over the garden. So last night after diner we found out that the dishwasher was broken (after only two years) full with dirty dishes. Gerben checked everything but he also had an appointment so eventually we had very little time for the photos. Did I mention we host a bbq for friends on Sunday! Lots of dishes to wash by hand! We went outside and guess what….. it suddenly became cloudy. No sun to be seen! Well my mood dropped to freezing.

This really is not a nice outfit!

At first I thought the sun hat would be nice, but I actually look like a witch. I had no color to style the dress so I opted for black, but because there was no sun it just made sober. And under a dress like this, I only like to wear flip flops and not sandals. The scarf I thought to use  as something to cover up my arms, but looked rediculous. So this is my stupidest, ugliest post ever! And as a consolation I NEED very much linkups! Hahahaha, enjoy the weekend, I’m going to!

MAXI SKIRT OR STRAPLESS DRESS

What am I wearing today?

Is it a maxi skirt or a strapless dress? I will show you. But first lets talk about ,, bingo wings”. I mentioned a problem here. When I work out at my physiotherapist’s place, I always wear sleeveless shirts. And in the gym one wall is a mirrored wall. A few months ago I was walking on the treadmill, in front of the mirror wall, and thought: oh my, I ‘ve got some ugly arms! I blamed the ugly fluorescent lights that are never flattering and didn’t pay any attention anymore. Until I looked back at the pictures for this post. It wasn’t the light! It were just my arms getting old! Damn! I know that when youre over whatever age, you should not wear sleeveless anymore , but I didn’t really think about it. Now I know I can never wear sleeveless anymore. On the one hand I think, you should not be bothered by it, but on the other hand it’s just ugly. I was thinking of skipping this outfit but….I ‘m not twenty anymore and with me it is, what you see is what you get, kind a thing. I don’t use filters, I always look like you see me!

Okay, but what am I wearing? A maxi skirt or strapless dress?

It’s a skirt. And a matching top. It has to be real hot before I wear a maxi  skirt. I don’t know why, I never wear a maxi skirt when it’s below 22 degrees or so. The camisole has got golden threads in it and the straps on the slippers are also gold colored. But because the skirt has an elastic waistband, you can also wear it like a dress!……when your young….or younger.Well, I’ll stop now about aging and the body change that comes along with it! Done! I wear a necklace and bracelet made from shells. Very summery.  Enjoy your week!

Skirt: older, but looking for a simular one I saw this dress here! To die for! But I also saw maxi skirts for great prices here

Top: simular here

Slippers: great ones here

40 PLUS FASHION SHORTS! + LINKUP

And another week has gone by, time again for Fancy Friday linkup. Link at the bottom of the post your picture!

Last week 45 great bloggers joined the linkup!

Great! Thank you all! And also many new bloggers joined. Very nice to meet your blog. Maybe I get this linkup 50!

[bctt tweet=”40 plus fashion, shorts! Do you wear shorts over 40? I did!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

I think shorts are not exactly a very stylish garment. It’s often just a bit to masculine for my taste. Exept when you’re in your twenties, then everything still looks good. Well, I am way past that! But for cycling, for example, wearing a short is very handy as with pencilskirts I cycle automatically with my knees together, wich looks strange. And with a dress or a wide skirt, the wind is blowing underneath and you’re constantly trying to keep your skirt down.

Okay, shorts it is! But a bit stylish right!

As you get older, your body changes(duh), and over the past few months it’s like gravity is winning on my thighs and upper arms. (on Wednesday I will be posting an outfit that I really can’t wear any longer without a cardigan!) Awful! Like Oprah Winfrey once said: everything is pointing to the South as you get older! Yeah…it is. Well, in my case. I have to just wear a slightly longer shorts ….. and cover my upper arms….and sports even more fanatic!

Have a fantastic weekend!

PINK ORANGE SHIRT DRESS

A linen shirt dress in bright colors! That’s the outfit of the day.

And I don’t even like linen. But when I saw this dress( it’s actually a tunic) online, I wanted it! And it was not yet July, you know, shop stop, so I ordered it. When the packet was delivered  and I unwrapped it eagerly, I found out that it was linen. What I don’t like about linen is the fact that it wrinkles a lot and then you look so sloppy and that after you’ve worn it once, it is a size bigger. But I have worn the dress last Sunday and it was 27 degrees here, and it feels just cool. Well you may wonder why on earth I wear leggings with those temperatures, but we went for friends to barbecue and I did not want to constantly pricked by mosquitos. And guess what…..they pricked me three times under the straps of my shoes and under my feet. And I left my shoes on!

[bctt tweet=”Wearing leggings under your dress so as not to be pricked by mosquitos does not help!” username=”Nancys Fashion Style”]

Orange and pink together in a shirtdresss.

Pink and orange combined with brown. I think the colors go great together. And I always love a high low hem. These colors and the wooden sandals give the outfit, with a bit of imagination, a 70 s feel. Leave earrings are the only accessory. I think the outfit doesn’t need more.
